October Alphabet

Another 30 day photo challenge has captured my interest.
This one is not just Saraya, but she decided to join in on the fun.

This is "A Doll A Day" for October.
The theme is the alphabet.

C is for Colcha

Several years ago,
I was at El Rancho de Las Golondrinas,
a living history museum south of Santa Fe.
I was allowed the opportunity to buy this one of a kind
colcha embroidered bag made by a manager of the museum.
C is for Colcha

Colcha is a traditional New Mexican embroidery.

The day after I took this photo with a printed background,
I went to the Harvest Festival at El Rancho de Las Golondrinas.
Saturday, October 4, 2014.
This is an older colcha wall hanging in the museum.

Nearby, this weaver was weaving the background cloth
that is used by those doing colcha embroidery.

This web page has a video with more information on colcha embroidery,
filmed at El Rancho de Las Golondrinas.

E is for Etch a Sketch

Sunday, the letter was "E".
Saraya started out with eggs for breakfast.

The Etch a Sketch was nearby.
Well, that was more interesting!

E is for Etch a Sketch

Saraya is charming and sweet and beautiful.
My real exploration is how to love and spend time with a new doll
while still enjoying and spending time with an older doll.
